Well, that was unexpected. After embarking on their OTR II tour earlier this year, Beyoncé and JAY Z have just released a new joint album titled Everything Is Love out of nowhere. The album is currently exclusively available to stream on Tidal; it’s currently unclear when it will appear to stream elsewhere. They also shared a video for “APES**T”, which features background vocals from Quavo and Offset and showcases Beyoncé and JAY Z in the Louvre alongside several dancers. Watch the video below.
Rumors about a joint album date back to November, when JAY Z stated that ideas for a collab project started coming together during recording sessions for Lemonade and 4:44. “We were using our art almost like a therapy session”, he said. “And we started making music together”. Bey ended up putting out Lemonade in 2016 instead of the joint project, and 2017 also saw JAY release 4:44, still with no joint project. Eventually, the project came to see the light of day with no warnings whatsoever.
Aside from the release of this surprise album, the pair will be touring throughout the fall. They also previously appeared together earlier this year on DJ Khaled’s single “Top Off”, and the pair linked up on “Family Feud” off 4:44 last year. Until the album releases elsewhere, you can stream Everything Is Love on Tidal now.
Update: Everything Is Love has been released everywhere else as of June 18th, 2018.
